Education
A theatre commited to education.
With members sharing a firm standing history in the Mira Mesa and San Diego community, Pacific Coast Theatre Company was founded with the ideology of giving music, theatre, and dance students a possibility and outlet for their creative talent. Through productions, workshops, and coaching individualized to the levels and capabilities of their talent, PCTC teaches students skills ranging from acting, singing, dancing, to building sets and more, all with the focus on the love of their craft.
With the recent budget cuts in local schools, help from local theatre groups is needed more than ever. We aim to bring a helping hand to schools through mentors and volunteers dedicating their time to art departments and programs. We currently have volunteers working in collaboration with the Mira Mesa High School Drama Department.
Our professional staff works with Technical Theatre students, assisting with a wide variety of skills from set design to lighting while our choreographer allows dance students to get out of their bodies and achieve new ideas, expression, and elegance through body movement.
We have a wonderful vocal and acting coach that will be helping students to attain a higher level of creativity through exercises to help improve their theatrical expression.
The Pacific Coast Theatre Company is proud to support our community and all of San Diego through performance skills that not only apply to a career in acting, but to the every day person.
PCTC will be forming a High School Improv. group to help teach the art of improvisation to High School Students throughout San Diego. Our improvisation staff will give bi-monthly workshops to the schools in our program, and monitor their progress with recommendations, games, and exercises for the team to practice on their own. Schools in the program will not only get one on one coaching from our excellent staff, and have a chance to bring improv. to their schools, but will also be assisted in creating their own improv. teams or shows for a chance to present their talent to the community. The best part is that every show the students put on is a chance to help raise money for the schools drama department!
